Invitations

My Mother in law's birthday is coming up and my sister in law is having a party for her. Its her first one. So she asked me to make the invitations for her. I made a few (including the Apron one i posted earlier) examples and i'm just waiting to hear which one she wants.
She loves Pink and Loves Paris.

BBQ Time

I saw a really cute card that was an Apron and it was for Gardening. So I thought I would turn this one into an apron (girlie style) for a BBQ.

Good Luck

Side Dresser Cut out Card

I found this tutorial on a fellow Demo's site today and watched her video. I like the card itself, but you really need to be creative in your own way to design the front of it.
This one was fairly easy to follow, I always like using the VeryVanilla and Close To Cocoa CS.

Friends

Here's the card using the Accordian style Flower. I like the colors that were used all together.
However, the flowers ARE accordian, so they wouldnt be able to fit in a standard envelope. Purchase the Padded envelopes from Stampin up they will fit in there better. You can do that Here and you can also put in your order for the last days of Sale A Bration!.

Accordian Flower

This morning I decided to try a tutorial from my demo site called Accordian Flower.
Its not for the person that has no patience. lol.
Sometimes you just have to stare at something long enough to understand how its supposed to go together. That's exactly what I did. So about 45 minutes later and a few strips later I was able to get it the correct way.
Now I'll just have to apply it to a New Card and see what I can come up with.
I'll have the tutorial up probably today.

Good Luck

Good Luck Card

Just messing around with the Die cut Fun Flowers. I really had no general idea of what I wanted to do with it. I just kept cutting and eventually ended up with this card.

Double Texture Embossing tutorial

Double Texture Embossing-Tips you don't read about

I decided to try out this tutorial that I found for Double Texture Embossing.
As I went through many scraps of Cardstock I have finally realized that when it calls for Heavy Chipboard. You need to purchase heavy chipboard. There are a few missing things on the tutorial after I tried it out myself.
So Here's a tweaked Version of the Double Embossing Tutorial.

Supplies: Heavy Chipboard, Big Shot , Cardstock (I used whisper white),
Oval Cut out, Oval Embossing Folder, Embossing background folder of your choice.

Step 1. Take your Oval Cut out and trace it on to your Chipboard , using regular scissors cut out the oval like this
You will have a cut line but it won't show.
Step 2. Like a Sandwhich you are going to put your white cardstock in the embossing folder, then place your chipboard on top. You will close to tab 2 and only use 1 cutting pad on the Big shot. Normally we use two. But you will only need one.
It should look like this:

Now here's a tip : on the back of your chipboard I would use a piece of scotch tape on the back side to just hold it in place. It does move around when you are putting it together, which i found out.
It should look like this once you have run it through.
Step 3: Now take the Oval cut out and sandwich it in this order
Embossed CS inside folder and Oval cut out on top of Oval frame emboss folder.
It would look like this
*Dont Forget*
Take a Piece of scotch tape and adhere the oval to the top of the embossing plate once you have it in the right spot.
Step 4: Run it through the Big shot, it should look like this once you are done
There you go!..You have now Double Embossed your Cardstock.
I'll put a picture of the card once i'm done with it.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday

This technique was found over at one of my favorite stops Lisa Young's Blog.
This was such a cute card when I first did it for Valentines. So I did it again,
When putting ribbon on the boxes, on the back side use scotch tape. It will hold the ribbon in place better.

Baby Dresser Card Girl

Baby Dresser Card Girl

This is the same technique used as the boy card. I figured I should do something in pink!. I have cards for baby but they are always in Boys!.I guess having one son of my own, I don't think to do it in girlie colors more so then Boy colors..
So here it is in Pink

Onsie

The Onsie card

I looked for the tutorial last night on the dimensions and the cuts for the layering around the legs, but the only one I could find you had to pay for. I'm pretty smart , so I decided to just start playing around with it until it looked right to me. It came out ok , i'm sure i could use a few more practice cards before getting it just right.

Love this set

I havent moved from the mess I call my craft room, I've sat here and worked with the Feeling Sentimental stamp set. I really like this set. I'm sure I'll get more use out of it.
So I made one more card. Another great find with some tweaking of course.

I've been crafting all morning, trying to get the energy to organize some of the things that are laying around, especially since both boys are sleeping . However I find that I just want to craft and get some things done. I'm trying to organize my first open house and workshop so i can share some of the things that I have done and show others what they can do.Hopefully in the next month I can get that together. Until then, I will continue to make more cards. Here's one using the Artisian Embellishment Kit from stampin up which you can purchase HERE .

I saw this card while looking for a certain technique and tweaked it a little bit.

Double Baby Shower

A double Baby Shower...

When you have an idea time seems to fly by as you put your ideas together and make a card. In this case, I had to make a second Baby shower card for the Double baby shower at work tomorrow. You know how it goes while you craft, everything gets put aside. Which is what happened with me. DH worked grave so he was sleeping and my son was slowly complaining that there was no dinner. I then realized i had just spent 2 hours in the craft room messing around. Well to say the least, the card got done, dinner got done and the boys are happily fed.

Baby

Baby.....

I had placed an Order from Stampin up, my first as a Demonstrator.
I have been waiting for it, after what seemed forever yesterday (i must had been the last stop on his list) the truck arrived. There was no knock on the door, no beeping of his horn. Luckily i was standing right up front of the house when I heard the "thump" of a box being dropped.
I walked by my son and just muttered a few words " my toy box has arrived" and scattered into the Craft room where I unpacked everything. All the neat things that I can't wait to try out!
I decided to take one of the "card of the day" images and see if I could replicate it. There is an Upcoming Baby shower so this was perfect. As well the stamp sets that came were just the ones I needed for this.

Stamp Set : Baby Bundle
Cardstock : Whisper white , Bashful Blue
Ink : Summer Sun, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist
Other: Hanger clips, brads, flower punch

Layered Look

You're too Kind

I Have been looking for something to do that isn't so "traditional" the past few days and finally came across this dimensional look that had a tutorial. I like the layered look on cards, so i thought I'd try it out. It took some time to get it done, being a Sunday and the nagging list of stuff we all have to do before that "back to work" Monday comes. I had extra time tonight since DH worked late and i had a few minutes of not hearing "hey mom" while the boy jumped in the shower. The results - not so bad...

Stamp set : Filigree background stamp (retired), Whimsical words
Cardstock : Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper white
Ink : Basic Black , Old olive
Accessories : Build a bird punch, Small tag punch, brads, eyelets, crop a dile
Ribbon : Basic Black Satin 5/8 ribbon
